First Merchants. Americana. Doesn't matter what they call it, this bank is still horrible. Canceling our account this week and switching completely to Mainsource. I couldn't even get the help I needed when calling after giving them my name, social, debit card number, and recent deposit on the account. They still wanted "more verification" and I was tired of wasting time. Called Mainsource and gave them my name and social and got all the help I needed. Get with it... Idiots.
Okay as the other reviews say... this bank is absolutely horrible. You cannot call directly to YOUR BANK... have to call the 'MAIN INDY BRANCH' and answer 300 security questions to ask any questions regarding your account. They have ZERO ATM locations other than the ONE that is at the actual bank... on top of the ATM fee FMB also throws in a $2 'foreign atm fee' so that makes it $24.50 to withdraw $20... I signed up for Overdraft Protection as i've been on this since i was 16.. well I can still overdraft and owe them money. Not sure how that works. Customer service is a big fail and their fraud dept is also a big fail... I would not recommend this bank to anyone.

First Merchant Bank continues to be an incompetent bank. We try and do business with this bank only to get no calls back. It takes days/ weeks to get anything done. They are slow, you get bumped around to different people, they act like they are the customer and that you need them. They have this bizarre sense of what customer service is. With the purchase of Ameriana Bank things have only gotten worse. As we transition to Indiana we need certain resources. This bank will not be one at the rate they are going. Never have I ever experience such poor banking.
Switching banks as soon as possible
This Bank is a total rip off- I went to Amerian for 30yr's with no problem---now have Many problem's with this bank & My account is closed! I will have to go 1st thing in the morning befroe they steal my Allegheny Retirement as they have done for 2 prior month's -----Get ur $ out of this theiving place- be4 u get ripped off.
